The Boujad rug comes from the Berber people who speak the language of the Atlas Mountains. These Berber handmade carpets that you will find are crafted in a small village called Boujad located in near the Atlas mountain. They are known as "the marvelous creations" in the Berber language which means mountain sheep. They were traditionally used to cover floors in the homes and they were decorated by local women using wool from their sheep's body.
